Tanvas was founded in 2011 by haptic pioneers, Ed Colgate and Michael Peshkin, and is based on years of research at the Northwestern University Neuroscience and Robotics Lab.
The company is based in Chicago and its other investors include Microsoft, Peak6, Northwestern University, Dick Kramlich and In-Q-Tel.
